Afterhours saw its beginnings when Feng, who is currently a student of Berklee College of Music in Boston, wrote the song World Without Fences for the Eco Music Challenge held by the National Environment Agency (NEA) in 2011. Eventually, he brought together a group of talented musicians to perform the song for the finals including Philipine Idol winner, Robert Sunga, and discovered their chemistry as band. Much to their pleasant surprise, World Without Fences became the winning song in this competition.

Today, Afterhours is one of the most active bands in the local music scene with regular appearances at One Altitude, Esplanade and Beer Market, and honored to be invited to perform for numerous corporate and private events and weddings.
